In 2012, 300 events will be held in 26 different sports. The
preparations have already started. The events will be held at
locations, which will be a mix of newly built venues, already
existing ones, historic and temporary facilities and some at
famous locations such as Horse Guards Parade and Hyde Park.
Their expenditure will mainly be for new venues that amount
to £560 million, which includes £250 million for the Olympic
stadium. They will spend approximately £65 million for the Olympic
village, £1.5 billion to run the Olympic Games and £200 million
on security. These are just the approximate figures.
The sports that will take place in London are Aquatics, which
includes diving, water polo, swimming, and synchronised swimming.
Canoe/kayak that will include canoe/kayak flatwater and canoe/kayak
slalom. Cycling that includes road cycling, BMX racing, track
cycling, and mountain bike. Gymnastics that includes trampoline,
artistic gymnastics, and rhythmic gymnastics. These are the
sports with their respective disciplines. The other sports that
